Summary:

In this episode I get into how we can stop taking things so personally. I address how we can not internalize things so much when people make comments to us. I get into some listener stories and personal ones and share my thoughts on how to approach this.

Summary:

In this episode I talk about how when we experience anxiety we can attach that to something or someone. And when we are in the place or with that person again the anxiety comes back. I share some personal examples of this and provide some suggestions of what you can do about it.

Summary:

In this episode I answer some listener questions, the first being related to how sometimes we try too hard to recover and that can come with it’s own problems. The second part of the episode was me talking about how we often have to say no in order to say yes.

Summary:

In this episode I discuss how being flexible can help us be less anxious. When we optimize and set up routines this keeps us confined and doesn’t allow us to change plans and adapt.

This episode was inspired in part by this article from zenhabits.net

"If your life is optimized, it’s easy to break. To give you another example … let’s say you have an optimized sleep routine. It’s amazing, and you get great sleep this way! But then you have to fumigate your house, so you have to sleep at a relative’s house. Your entire optimized routine is thrown off, so you get horrible sleep for a few days. Then you try to optimize your sleep for travel, getting a great setup for sleeping on the plane and trains. Then your favorite sleep mask, ear plugs (or noise-canceling headphones) and travel pillow get stolen. No sleep! The most optimized thing to do, then, is to not optimize — get good at dealing with everything, from sleeping on trains without any kind of setup to sleeping on the ground. Unoptimize your life by getting good at dealing with unoptimal situations. Throw randomized craziness into your life. Forget about optimizing, and learn flexibility, learn to deal, learn to let go, learn to adapt."

Summary:

In this episode I relate to how we often won't have all the answers before taking action.  And that we can't have a safety net in life. If I'd waited till everything was perfect before getting started, I wouldn't have made any changes at all.

Summary:

In this episode I do a face to face interview with my good friend Wes Greenwood.  Wes tells us all about travelling around North America for the past year.  We talk about why he took a year out, how he strives to overcome limiting beliefs, what other people thought of him taking the leap and lots more.  We get into how much traveling costs, his favourite places and what he's learnt from the experience.
